Literature Text

Keep moving forward;
      But do not forget where you have tread.

Remember those who have come and gone in life;
      But don't dwell on the fact they are no longer there.

Don't act as a weapon that harms others;
      But act as a shield that defends those you care for.

Feel the emotions life offers;
      But don't let them cloud your judgment.

Walk tall and stand proud;
      But don't let your pride prevent you from asking or accepting help.

Avoid acting superior to others;
      But take pride in your strengths and accomplishments.

Avoid judging others, especially those you don't know;
      But look with questioning eyes when something is amiss.

Hold fast to your beliefs;
      But remain flexible for change and new ones to come in.

Forgive those who crossed you;
      But be wary so the past doesn't repeat.

Search for knowledge on the unknown;
      But be wary, some things are best left unknown.

Don't pry into others' lives;
      But if distress is seen, find the reason why without prying so you can help them through it.
Everyone is different yet the same; we all have minds, emotions, beliefs and even our own “Code” or “Way”. This is mine; you can agree or disagree with it. You can even use these to live your life. But the fact is this is my “Way” and it is always evolving. These are philosophical phrases I have either heard from my dad while growing up and altered to fit me; or; thought up in the past. This is sure to change and more is added or removed as time goes on. I am sure to add more when I think of some. Hope you enjoyed the read and if they made you think, then they did their job.
